Merry Christmas!

Dear partners,
We are stopping classes on the 19th, to enjoy the holidays. There are a few photos and a carol in the Christmas folder, and there will be more after the holidays. We hope you like them. Meanwhile, all the Romanian team wishes you all a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year!
Irina and the kids.

A Romanian carol

This is our first carol for you. We are singing while drawing Christmas postcards. We hope you like it!

Here is a photo from the Ministry of Education in Prague. I was with our headmaster there.
Thank you for your congratulations!

Our visit in TV

We were in TV studios in Ostrava. The weather was very cold (we have the first snow today), but very interesting.

Halloween

Here are some photos from the Halloween party in our school. As you se, the kids had a great time!

And the winner is...

The voting is over and we have a winner! It's the no. 4, the favourite of the Czech team. Congratulations! Here it is, on our blog, too!

Romanian First Task

Our first task is waiting for you to solve it The kids were really eager to compose it, but the funny part was that it was hard to make them understand it should be in English. They brought very nice Mathematical tasks, games and crosswords, but they were in Romanian. They were quite disappointed when I could not accept those. :)
How about a Mathematical dictionary, in English and in our own languages?

First task

We finished our first task about our fontain.
Can you solve this task during 14 days?

We enjoyed nice days and we took some photos in the square. It was very funny, because there was a vote meeting in the same time there.
We have new members in our group so we completed our presentation.

The logo again

The Czech logo proposals look really nice, especially because they are drawn by the kids. I particularly like your favourite, too. Is it a boy's or a girl's? The kid has a real talent, as far as I can say.
But I have this question: how will we choose the one for the project? Voting would be an idea, maybe a team vote, because we don't work with the same number of kids. Can you think of an "algorithm"?

For the logo

Here are some sites that are easy to use in order to create the logo. If you decide to do it this way, instead of drawing it, your kids can have fun combining the elements.

Congratulations on the International Teachers' Day!

Class 6C

These are my pupils in their classroom. They are not little angels, they just pretend to be!
But they are a funny and nice group, good kids I enjoy working with, even if sometimes we have minor "problems".
Glad to meet you!

Enthusiasm

We had our first work session today: I explained the project to the kids and then they worked for the presentations. They will work in groups, so the presentations are also group ones, but they also wrote about each one of them. I try to make them in work groups as much as possible because this class (it's the one I also tutor) was only formed a year ago, so they still need to be brought together.
Although I had told them they would only write a draft today, they were so enthusiastic they added little drawings and hearts, just as if their partners would really get their papers. This is good thing: they feel they will work in a team.It was touching, so I decided to scan them and upload them. Here are two of them!

Hello!

This blog is created to help us share impressions and experience about our work in the project, but also interesting things about our way of teaching Maths and our towns.
I hope we will enjoy working together and posting on it!
Welcome!
Irina
